Resident Overmind
Game in beta state
The game is played just like the old Resident Evil titles.
WASD-controlled character, no mouse required.
A story is virtually non-existent right now.
Since there are no in-game descriptions yet, here are the controls:
WASD - Movement
Shift - Sprint
X - Quick 180° turn
F - Interact / Pick up / Use / Select
Q - Back / Cancel
I - Inventory
T - Use Quick Item
Space - Fire
Known bugs:
- Unable to move right after firing a weapon (workaround: quickly tab a movement-button).
- After entering a building you must - in some cases - double hit 'Q' in order to move again.
Hints:
- Search for small boxes. These are items.
- You have to equip a gun before you can fire.
- You can interact with many doodads on the map. Just get close to them and press 'F'.
@S3rius WOW keep up the good work! The different camera perspectives, the lighting etc are really well done. The coding must have been complicated to achieve all that I think the new SC2 patch might be causing some problems with the game however because the different camera perspectives will begin to lay on top one another at a certain point of the game when i play. Once again, keep up the great work, hope you can debug it.
@TYKill The controls are supposed to be like that. This map is inspired by the early Resident Evil games as the name suggests. The difficult control scheme is there to make you feel more tense.
Can't wait for the release.

wow love this map, the vibe and he music is great as well. will you add in more characters? spectres or ghost would be awesome.

great map. camera is really RE-style :D
is it me or is the map to hard? infestor only possible with full health. then 4 zerglings and afterwards an infested one + hydra...?
shooting should be a little faster. and i wondered why my bullets are splattering ;)
Cannot try this map because i have 'azerty' keyboard.
Might want to add arrows as controls, or a way to change the controls.
10/10 map. best ums ive played so far. all the ums out there should be at this level of amazing quality and detail. great camera angles, feels like the real deal resident evil. looking forward to see what this map can bring espicially having a 10/10 alrdy from a beta.
damn i wish i knew how do custom scripting this map is amazing....
You should release a tutorial or a version of the map explaining some of the scripting i would really love to learn how this map works outside the normal built-in triggers

but well made
turning seems to react very slow so I look like a total noob when I play it. perhaps make aiming with mouse possible.
It wasnt really clear for me what my mission was or what the story behind this really is.
Decent play. Mouse would be nice. Camera angles suck balls.
Very Nice map 10/10, only thing is i didn't read the controls on here when i downloaded>< so I kind of had to learn them by trial and error, a button layout at either the start or in loading screen would help. :)
Unfortunately you don't get the great lighting without setting you lighting quality to high, which for me means setting everything else to it's lowest in order to be able to run smoothly :(
Great map though, lol the Infestor really freaked me out when it surfaced, because I was trying to get around to where I saw that red light.
You should make run set to toggle though, it is a pain navigating and holding down shift.

That was awesome! completed it first time. i wouldnt mind being able to play it with a mouse tho, kinda diablo style. or have some sort of curser like a laser pointer from the gun or tracer bullets (a laser gun aka stalker weapon), it is sometimes hard to see what you are shooting at :) but let me say again Awesome stuff.
10/10, really hard tho.
